Owner Abdoulie Lowe — who emigrated from Gambia and established Bantaba in 2012 — named his Lynnwood restaurant after the African tradition of gathering beneath a great shade tree for community, food, and conversation. The menu celebrates the bold flavors of West Africa with afra chicken, goat curry, yassa chicken, jerk chicken, lamb and chicken skewers, lentil soup, and plantain fritters in generous, satisfying portions.
