A Miami institution since 1946, Jackson Soul Food opened its third location — branded as 'Jackson Square' — at MIA in February 2024 during Black History Month. Founded as Mama's Café in Overtown (Miami's historic Black neighborhood), owner Shirlene Ingraham learned to cook at age 6, standing on a crate to reach the counter.
