A Winston-Salem institution since 1984, Forsyth Seafood began when the late Charlie Hardesty sold shrimp from the back of his truck. Today his wife Virginia and daughter Chef Ashley Hardesty Armstrong — a Johnson & Wales culinary grad and Certified Nutritional Coach — run the market and 100-seat cafe together. Fresh shipments arrive four times weekly from the Outer Banks, Gulf, and Louisiana, with 25+ varieties of wild-caught fish, crab, shrimp, and NC oysters available.
