Mother-and-son team Sharon and Devan Cunningham launched CC's on Central in late 2022, and following Devan's win on Food Network's Chopped, the restaurant has become one of Phoenix's most celebrated Black-owned soul food destinations — serving refined Southern classics including smothered chicken, fried catfish, oxtails, shrimp and grits, mac and cheese, and collard greens from the ground floor of a midtown office building that Phoenix New Times calls some of the best Southern food in town.
