A Burien community staple since 2004, Berry's BBQ was founded by Rufus Berry, who grew up cooking soul food the way his mother had in rural Arkansas. After Rufus passed away in 2020, his longtime friend Judy Smith — now owner with her husband Steven — reopened the restaurant in 2022 in his honor, keeping his legacy alive with Southern-smoked ribs, rib tips, hot links, stuffed turkey legs, spicy greens, and creamy mac and cheese.
